Acrylics class, November 29, 2015
On Saturday, November 29, we had the final art class for 2015 at the RBJ residential tower this year.
After learning paper jewelry making and basic drawing, instructor Benedicta Colon offered a two-part introduction to colors and acrylics session which the attendess, who are also clients of the Serafina pantry enjoyed. It was a great and colorful Saturday!!
Tamales class, November 29, 2015
Taught by our fab Mexican food expert Carmen Castillo, the class was a step-by-step hands on process, with more than a dozen seniors, most of whom are Serafina pantry clients, happily slathering masa on corn husks. The final result was enjoyed by all participants. Y’all outdid yourselves, especially Dona Carmen. Yum!
“Cooking for Life” class, November 21, 2015
The Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) held a nutrition and cooking class, “Cooking for Life” at the RBJ building where the Serafina food bank is located . Many of the student’s who attended are also Serafina clients.
The class, taught by CAFB Licensed nutrition educators, explains the My Plate priciples and encourages healthy food selection and eating.
